Your Office Visit

When you schedule a visit to our office, you will be mailed some papers to fill out. Please read the information and fill out the forms before you come to the office as it will expedite your visit.One of the forms is your list of medications. If you are unable to fill it out, bring all your medications with you.
 
During your first visit, the doctor or the nurse practitioner will take a complete history. History is the most important tool to help us diagnose your allergic problem. We will then do a physical examination.
 
After this, we will discuss possible diagnoses and treatments with you. In many cases, we may need diagnostic tests. Some tests, such as allergy testing and lung function tests can be scheduled in our office while others such as blood tests and X rays may have to be scheduled at a hospital.
 
Diagnosis of your problem may sometimes require completion of all tests. We will then discuss with you the results of your tests and our recommendations and formulate a plan for your treatment. Your treatment plan may include one or more of the following:

1. Environmental control
2. Medications
3. Immunotherapy or allergy injections.

If you were referred to us by your primary care provider, we will send him/her a report of your visit and our recommendations.
